Community Service

I. Introduction

II.    Profile of the organization(s) you worked for.
Who are they?
Fowler/PSLA High School

What do they do to serve the community?
Public School is to help students to graduate from High Schools.

When do they provide their services?
 Monday To Friday

Where do they provide their services?
 Syracuse, New York

Why is there a need for their services?
Because they Provide high school. Students need diploma to get better job and be successful in their life.

III. The mission statement of the organization. (If you worked for a structured organization not an individual)

Vision: Our vision is to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where all students will recognize and achieve their fullest potential, with support from staff and community resources, so all are prepared for college/career and ultimately contributing their life purpose and skills to society.

Mission: Fowler High School recognizes that each student is an individual; that all students are creative; that all students need to succeed. Therefore, Fowler High School respects the individual needs of students; fosters a caring and creative environment; and emphasizes the social, emotional, physical, intellectual development of each student.

III.  Description of the specific tasks you performed for he organization or individual

Photograph in all around the school for use on PSLA website and creating a PSLA promotional presentation. The school will be using the pictures to show what good things are happening in the schools (Fowler and PSLA). They will be using for website and they have a high school choice presentation.
Flash Card will be using in class to study for regents.
IV.  Discuss any memorable personal experience; positive or negative, you had during your service that you feel were important.

My experience helped to build my confidence because although there were people that I know, I was kind of nervous taking pictures of people that I didn't know. Photographs help me communicate my experiences to friends. I want to share my experience with others and this was a good opportunity to do that. When I was making flash cards I feel like I am helping my self and helping others to learn. I'm proud about what I am doing for my school.

How these tasks impacted the mission of the organization or the well-being of the individual?
Photograph helps promote the positive image of the school.  In the community or in school people might talk badly about Fowler and PSLA, but if they see the pictures that can help them think positively.

VI.  Conclusion:  Your personal reactions to the act of performing community service
Positive and/or negative reactions Do you feel you made a difference? Why or why not.
Yes it does make a difference because the pictures that I take show that students are happy by learning and made the school make interesting.

What impact do you believe community service has on our society? Community service helps other people and it does help yourself for your future.  Would you recommend your community service opportunity(ies) to other students Why or why not? Of course I would recommend this community service opportunity for several reason. First it gives you a chance to improve your artistic skill. Second it is a good community service for independent person.
